Official-record notice: Suffolk City Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release status, obtain an official booking record, release a person, post bond, or act for a court. Contact the public office that holds the record or status information directly.
Official Suffolk Record Contacts
Suffolk’s adult detention path is regional. Western Tidewater Regional Jail is the primary custodian for regional adult custody and booking material, while the Sheriff’s Office performs court and civil-process functions and is not the WTRJ operator. Start by matching the question to the record type. A Police event, a WTRJ custody result, a warrant question, and a court case do not share one universal contact.
Western Tidewater Regional Jail
2402 Godwin Boulevard
Suffolk, VA 23434
Main line: 757-539-3119
Current or recent custody: WTRJ Inmate Lookup
Use the official lookup for a current-custody or recent-release question. For an inmate or booking question identified by the City Magistrate page, WTRJ Booking is reached through the main line at extension 543. The research did not establish general public lobby or records hours, so none are listed here.
WTRJ FOIA and Booking Records
Contact: Marissa Dickens
2402 Godwin Blvd.
Suffolk, VA 23434
Telephone: 757-942-0527
Fax: 757-539-6409
Email: dickensm@wtrj.org
The WTRJ FOIA process accepts requests by mail, fax, email, in person, or telephone. It is the practical request path for an existing adult booking or intake record and a releasable adult routine-booking photograph. The published process describes actual costs, a possible deposit for estimates over $200, and a response framework. It does not set a flat booking-photo price.
Suffolk Police Central Records
111 Henley Place
Suffolk, VA
Records questions: 757-514-7915
Form: Suffolk Police Request for Information Form
Central Records is the right route for a Police incident report or Police-held record. The form lists a $10 incident-report fee. That figure belongs to the named Police report and should not be assumed to apply to a WTRJ booking record, a photograph, or a court copy.
Suffolk Sheriff and Warrant Clerk
Sheriff’s Office: 150 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434
Telephone: 757-514-7840
Published hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Warrant Clerk: 757-514-7922
The Sheriff’s Office handles civil process, court security, and related Sheriff-held material. It is not the default source for a WTRJ booking record. Suffolk has no verified public self-service warrant portal; the Warrant Clerk is the City’s official route for an outstanding-warrant or summons question.
Use the following official destinations for the question at hand:
- For a recent Suffolk Police arrest event, use the Police-to-Citizen Recent Arrests module. It is separate from WTRJ custody.
- For current WTRJ custody or a recent release, use the WTRJ Inmate Lookup and the jail contact path above.
- For a later case status or disposition, use Virginia Case Information or the relevant court clerk.
- For a person sentenced to state custody or supervision, use the Virginia Department of Corrections Inmate & Supervisee Locator.
- For a warrant or summons question, use the Suffolk Police Warrant Clerk rather than a roster, social post, or third-party listing.
When requesting a record, provide the name, approximate date, record type, and any known identifier. A focused request helps the custodian find an existing record and explain any applicable limits. Charges and booking entries are allegations, not proof of guilt; court records provide the later disposition.
